About Me
I believe that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honesty and caring without judgment.
I have worked in mental health for over 10 years in different areas that include: Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse clinics, Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals, Home Health Programs, and Private Practice.
I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual. I have been trained in a range of modalities that help me create a tailored approach for each individual and situation. My training includes Dialect Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution focused, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also fortunate enough to bring my dog Bailey to the office. Bailey is currently working on her Therapy Dog Certification.
As a therapist, I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist, combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling. I work with Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatric populations.
I received both a certification in Substance Abuse Counseling and my Master's of Social Work from the University of Utah.
