Bertrand Ithurralde, LCSW

About Me

Originally hailing from Central Nevada, Bertrand is an avid UNR Wolf Pack fan and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Connected Therapy. Bertrand considers himself semi-retired. Although he works full time as he enjoys things like electricity, food, shelter, and needed funds for necessary adventures. Over the past twenty years, he has been a teacher, clinician, program manager, clinic director, business owner, state worker and hospital worker. He has also been a field instructor for several schools of social work and nursing. He received his Graduate degree in Social Work (MSW) from University of Nevada Reno in 2008. Bertrand has a love for history, and a Degree in History from UNR as well.

 

Bertrand provides individual counseling for adults and couples counseling. Bertrand has worked in community mental health settings, state mental health teams, acute care hospitals, inpatient psychiatric facilities, child and family agencies, community health, mental health advocacy organizations, addiction treatment programs and private business. Bertrand is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT,) in addition he utilizes a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT,) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT.) 

 

Bertrand believes in working in partnership with clients, utilizing their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. He also realizes how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems (family, friends), work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process.
