About Me

Life can be very overwhelming for children and adolescents as change happens constantly. Children tend to have a lot of emotions that can be very challenging for them and their caregivers to understand. My goal is to assist young children and adolescents with their feelings and teach skills to help manage them. I provide a warm, safe, and fun environment for my clients to come and decompress. Strong therapeutic relationships are important to me and that is why I strive to ensure that all my clients are met on a human first level.

I was born and raised in the Reno/Sparks area. I attended Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno where I completed my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Social Work. I have a strong passion for working with children that was shaped by my family who provided Foster Care to the Reno community for almost 17 years. This experience taught me empathy and patience.

During my Undergraduate and Graduate program, I worked for the University of Nevada, Reno’s, Child and Family Research Center in the Home Visiting Program. As a Home Visitor, I provided in-home services including education, resources, and support. With that, I am confident in my knowledge revolving around child development and hold knowledge of available resources in our community.

I provide an integrative approach such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Family Systems Theory.
