Trauma is an emotional response to an event that can lead to disconnection from self, others, and the world around us.  At Connected Therapy, we have skilled therapists ready to help you get back on the path that leads to reconnection.

Being able to feel safe with other people is the single most important aspect of mental health; Safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.
-Bessel van der Kolk, PhD

A traumatic incident can occur in many forms, such as bullying, community violence, complex trauma, disasters, early childhood trauma, intimate partner violence, medical trauma, physical abuse, refugee trauma, sexual abuse, sex trafficking, terrorism and violence, complicated grief, and more.  If something has happened to you that felt emotionally traumatic, you may be at risk for trauma-related symptoms.  Whether the event was a single incident, chronic, or complex, it can cause emotionally and physically debilitating effects.

At Connected Therapy, our therapists specialize in trauma-informed practice.  All of our clinicians have advanced trainings in trauma therapies.  All of our therapists are Certified Clinical Trauma Professionals.  Each therapist has their own trauma specific modality that they use in their sessions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.  If you are looking for a specific modality, please refer to each therapists' bio to learn more about them to find the best fit for you.
